About Me

My name is Dominique Dinh. I just graduated from Concordia University, Irvine with my BA in Business Administration with an Emphasis on Marketing. I am ambitious and am completing my undergrad in 3.5 years instead of 4 years. During my final semester in school, I took the opportunity to work abroad in Hong Kong for Quiksilver Asia Sourcing, Ltd.
Throughout my 23 years in life I have gained many different hobbies and skills that relate to my future profession.

Facts that show off my abilities:
- Got into web and graphic design when I was 9 years old (1998), became proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver by the time I was 11 (2000). Unfortunately I have not caught up with the times, so now my current knowledge is only basic.
- Started an eBay business out of my house when I was 14 years old (2003), selling Japanese pop culture items (anime goods, music CDs, clothes, etc). I designed the product pages, researched the products sold, listed the auctions, e-mailed customers and shipped packages. I can do it all!
- Edit dance videos for the dance group I belong to, Disco NRG, since 2006. I edit the footage using Sony Vegas Video 8.
- My concert photography was regularly featured on Oceanup, a gossip and news site for teen stars.
- Proficient in use of Social Media networks, and always on the look out for the next big site.
- I work at seasonal clothing warehouse sales for OBEY and toddland since 2011.
- I was the Marketing intern at OBEY Clothing for the Spring 2012 semester (December 2011-May 2012). I did many tasks for Marketing, including:
  • Organized clothing and accessories by seasons
  • Steaming and organizing clothing for photoshoots
  • Styled a men's photoshoot for Holiday 2012 (t-shirts and pants)
  • Applied makeup to a female model for a Holiday 2012 photoshoot
  • Packaged and sent out clothing samples to magazines such as Nylon, Seventeen, Glamour, and Teen Vogue
  • Added related products to items on the OBEY Clothing webstore
  • Created catalog cut ups to help assist with purchases of clothes for the season
  • Filed and created folders for customer invoices
  • Excel database entry for Design
- I've demonstrated my leadership skills at school and was featured in the school newspaper (http://www.cui.edu/uploadedFiles/StudentLife/Student-Newspaper/7.14-final.pdf, page 7) and alumni magazine (http://www.cui.edu/aboutcui/connect/index.aspx?id=23621, page 9) regarding ways I handled being put into leadership positions and how it helped me while working abroad in Hong Kong.

Fun personal facts about me:
- Born and raised in Orange County, CA my whole life, but grew up for a few years in Tokyo, Japan as a child.
- I am only fluent in English, know bits and pieces of Japanese and French but very out of practice.
- Parents are world travelers, meaning that traveling is in my blood.
- I am a foodie. You want to know about the best food trucks or hole-in-the-walls in Orange County? You can count on me!
- Total make-up junkie. I run a personal/beauty blog, which is regularly updated: sEpia memory
- I am old-fashioned when it comes to some things. I still believe in buying physical copies of music (CDs, 12" vinyls), movies (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray) and software. You can bet I milk my student status when purchasing software!
